When the client moved in to the property, the entire back garden was covered with decking. After tiring of the slippy boards and rather barren space, the decision was made to undertake a complete redesign. Out came the deck to be replaced by a pea gravel patio area, flanked by generous borders running around three sides of the long rectangular garden. The open railings at the end of the garden were replaced with smart grey fencing that repurposed some of the waste decking boards. A small pond was also created to help attract wildlife to the garden, using a reclaimed concrete planter.
